Some of you may have heard about this before as it has been going for a while now. To those who haven’t, allow me to share with you this very interesting opportunity to help feed the hungry.
The banner above is a link to a site that allows you to help end hunger in the world while improving your vocabulary. For every right answer that you make in their vocabulary game, they donate 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program. While 20 grains may not sound much, the amount of rice that you can donate increases significantly as you keep on playing and getting the right answers.
Sponsors, whose names or banners appear at the bottom of the screen after every correct answer, pay for the rice. More correct answers mean more money generated from the sponsor banners and more hungry people fed. The site has also added other subject categories, like Math, Chemistry, Geography and Art, so more people can participate.
Many of us have been spending so much time on WarCraft or The Sims. Why not play for free rice instead?
