Football. Soccer. However you want to call it, Davao emerged victorious.
Players from the Davao Region Athletic Association (DAVRAA) Eagles squad kicked into high gear, as they scored gold at the 2010 Palarong Pambansa Secondary Boys Football event in Tarlac City. The medal comes seven years after winning their last one in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
With coach Ramonito “Lalas” Carreon at the helm, the DAVRAA Eagles killed the chances of their opponent Central Visayas Region Athletic Association (CVIRAA) from grabbing the football championship this year.
The triumph was spearheaded by noteworthy performances from midfielder Jomar Acedo and goalie Dominador Tato IV, who are both from Emar Learning Center. The Eagles squad is also composed of players from Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City National High School, and University of Mindanao.

On a side note, I hope Davao City can host the Palarong Pambansa in the near future. It’s already long overdue!
