It is summer all year round with the 2nd Sanuk Sandcastle Building Competition – Davao leg.
Sanuk is definitely bringing back the summer! With the immense success of the Sanuk Sandcastle competition held in Manila last summer, this huge 4-city stop sandcastle competition will bring the sun and sand back to you! Davao, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro are scheduled to experience the Sanuk sandcastle fever in separate events from September to November this year.
Sands will flood the streets of Davao on September 18, 2010 and all Dabawenyos are invited to participate and sand-sculpt their most spectacular sandy creations. Groups will go head to head with bucketfuls of sand, and all will shovel the afternoon away.
The most unique and eye-catching sand creations will definitely reign for a day in the streets of Davao. From Greek gods to giant ocean waves with happy surfers and mermaids — these are but a few of the winning sand creations from the last Sanuk Sandcastle Competition held in Manila. Be ready to be wowed on what’s in store for this even bigger leg of the competition.
The Sanuk Sandcastle Building Competition is open to all sandcastle-building enthusiasts, students, and even professionals.
The streets of Governor Sales will be packed with competitors from all over Davao. Eight groups of five members each will vie for a little more than bragging rights with three major prizes up for grabs:
Grand Prize winner — Php 20,000 worth of cash and Sanuk gift certificates
1st runner up — Php 14,000 worth of cash and Sanuk gift certificates
2nd runner up — Php 10,000 worth of cash and Sanuk gift certificates
Each competing group will be given the basic sand sculpting materials such as shovels, buckets, formworks, decorations, and props. Each team will be assigned to an area of 9 square meters with approximately 10 cubic meters of sand. Contestants can sculpt anything at all with the materials provided at the location.
To join, please download Registration Form and send completed form to sanuk@primergrp.com before September 3, 2010. You may also visit Sanuk Philippines’ Facebook page or Multiply page for more information.
