After the success of Davao City’s prism of taxicabs — White, Yellow, Blue, Violet and Orange — another colored taxi is making waves not only in the city’s streets, but also in social media sites.
The Mabuhay Group recently launched its fleet of black taxicabs. More than just a new cab color, the black taxi will debut topnotch technology for public transport in Davao City.
A number of these black taxis will be equipped with cashless payment system. Simply put, you can swipe your Bancnet and Megalink ATM card to pay for your taxi fare! And like some of Mabuhay’s fleet of cabs, the black taxis will also boast of global positioning system (GPS) tracking and computer-controlled dispatching.
These are exciting times for public transportation in Davao City. I guess wireless payments and online taxi dispatch aren’t too far into the future anymore. 🙂
This is indeed a breakthrough! I hope Taxi companies will work on its implementation here in the NCR. And hopefully, by then, credit cards can also be accommodated, or maybe pre-paid cards.
That would be really convenient. Para hindi na kailangan mag-worry if nakalimutan mag-withdraw bago sumakay ng taxi or kung buo ang pera mo. =)
Nauna pa ang Davao sa Manila.. Galeng! Guess what, it will be very convenient.. Exact amount. No need for change..
Yep yep! We hope this payment system will be added in more units (until every unit in Davao has one) para total convenience na talaga. =)
