Aspiring filmmakers, listen up! Mindanao’s longest running film festival is opening its doors once again for students and professionals who want to hone their skills in movie making.
Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop 2015 is calling on individuals looking to develop their craft to join weekend classes in the following fields:
- Sound and production design
- Producing and marketing
- Story development
- Cinematography
- Screenwriting
- Directing
- Editing
This year’s workshops will be held at Cinematheque Davao (and other city locations) on October 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25. Entry fee for professionals is P3,500, while students may enroll at a discounted price of P2,500. The fee includes the workshop module, snacks, and a shirt.
The 2015 workshop promises to be grander and more exciting, especially with the financial support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). “For many years, the workshop operated generally on the registration fees of the participants. Because of the NCCA grant, we were able to generously pull down the rates so that more participants may be able to join. The grant also allows us to throw in a few more exciting things into the workshop that has not been done before,” said Workshop Director Jill Palarca.
Outputs of the workshop will come in the form of short films, which will be showcased in the 11th Mindanao Film Festival slated in December 2015.
To join the 2015 Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop, you may get your registration forms at the Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation, Inc., located at AVL Office, 59-A Bldg., F. Inigo Street, Davao City (in front of Cecil’s Anda).
